Description
Very colourful graffiti on, what is left of, the Berlin Wall.
The Berlin Wall (German: Berliner Mauer) was a barrier that divided Berlin from 1961 to 1989. Constructed by the German Democratic Republic, starting 1961, the Wall completely cut off (by land) West Berlin from surrounding East Germany and from East Berlin until government officials opened it in November 1989.
In 1961, many families were split, while East Berliners employed in the West were cut off from their jobs. West Berlin became an isolated exclave in a hostile land.

I remember the day the wall came down vividly. A great capture and thanks for your thorough description too. L/F

You're Welcome Karin. I was there a year before the wall came down and twice after. I'm kind of 'happy" to have seen how it was and how it is now. A world of difference!
